How Grid Guardian works

Come to the kiosk. Registration takes under three minutes.

We take your name, address and mobile number, and your child's first name. Nothing else. No date of birth, no payment details, no photographs and no identity documents.

The wrist device suits most children. Not every child wants one on, and on a smaller child it does not always sit well.

A pendant on a lanyard is available at every registration and works identically. Take whichever your child will actually keep on.

Scan the QR code and download the free app, then we pair the device with your phone.

Position updates every 60 seconds and is accurate to within a few metres. Where the event has given us a site map we lay it over the top, so you see your child near the landmarks.

Draw a Safe Zone on the map around wherever you are. If your child crosses it, you get an immediate notification on the phone.

Most separations get caught here, before they turn into anything.

Tap Find My Child and updates switch to every 20 seconds for 15 minutes. You watch the position on the map and walk toward it. If they are moving, you see them moving.

Twenty minutes of standing still and worrying becomes a short walk in a known direction.

There's an SOS button on the device. If your child presses it, you get an alert on your phone straight away with their location.

No camera, and no recordings of any kind. It cannot be used to see or hear anything around your child.

It reports a position, and that position is visible only to you.

And it does not watch your child. The service supports your supervision. It does not replace it, and we say the same thing to every parent at the kiosk.
